Check this out!

1. A Tribe Called Quest – ‘Electric Relaxation’

“This TCQ single, released in ’93 is one of the best from their album Midnight Marauders. Here we have classic 90’s Hip Hop, slowed down and inserted with some raw sexuality. A story of lust and bedroom-bragging, set to a rhythmic beat, this is a banging sound and great one to get down to.”

2. Mila J – ‘Smoke Drink Breakup’

“This is definitely one for the ladies! This song is from her debut album M.I.L.A released in 2014 but it has a 90’s style beat. I love this track because its catchy even if you don’t know it. The lyrics reflect her relationship struggles, which I think everyone secretly likes because they can empathise with it.”

3. Donell Jones – ‘U Know Whats Up (feat. Left-Eye)

“This track is rich with smooth swagger that typifies Donnell’s late 90’s style. Saturated with sassy bars from Left-Eye, its the perfect singalong slow jam.”

4. D’Angelo – ‘Sugah Daddy’

“I just love D’angelo! His new album, Black Messiah is incredible, so funky. I went and saw him Live last year and it was the best concert I’ve ever been too. ‘Sugah Daddy’ is such a tune, the whole song is basically just him and his band jamming to this sexy groove.”

5. Drake – ‘November 18th’

“This moody, sexy track from Drakes So Far Gone mixtape is right for any setting. Reminiscent of Houston Texas, it works as sumptuous background music as well as prompting some slow physicality on the dance floor. Drakes hushed narration at the end sets the mood and pulses rising.”

6. Frank Ocean – ‘Thinking About You

“This is always a success on the dance floor. Its super romantic and atmospheric. This was released as the main single from his debut studio album, Channel Orange.”

7. Ginuwine – ‘In Those Jeans

“This is just a classic for the ladies and the gents! Its so sexy and slow, every time I play this the whole room is dancing in sync. As soon as you hear those signature guitar chords, you know whats coming! It can often be overshadowed by ‘Pony’ but its just as much of a classic. Ginuwine is one of the most important pioneers of bumpin’ and grinding.”

8. Aaliyah – ‘Rock The Boat’

“This is another classic. Everyone loves Aaliyah, I have to say that this is probably one of her sexiest songs. This song stayed in the Billboard ‘Hot 100’ for 25 weeks! I find it really hypnotic and I love the instrumentals. Lyrically, Aaliyah is telling her lover how to please her, its super sensual and every girl can relate to this one.”

9. Lynden David Hall – ‘Sexy Cinderella’

“This is one of my favourite slow jams. Its very groovy but still has a solid beat to dance too. Lynden David Hall is known for his soulful and sexy R&B music. It works very well in a room full of couples!”

10. De La Soul – ‘All Good (feat. Chaka Khan)

“This collaboration between De La Soul and the soulful legend Chaka Khan is a perfect number for an R&B mix with a bit of edge. Its undeniably catchy and equipped with a sensuous beat just right for bumpin’ to.”
