South London now has its very own Miami Beach, thanks to the latest instalment of Backyard Cinema. The UK’s only theme-changing cinema, responsible for The Last Chapel, The Winter Night Garden and The Lost World, has brought the Miami heat to Mercato Metropolitano in Borough, with a tropical beach and exotic cocktails to accompany screenings of classic films and blockbusters. Ticket holders exchange city footwear for flip-flops at the door and tropical outfits are encouraged.
“We’ve filled the cinema with 32 tons of sand and are ready to show some of the best summer films the cinematic world has to offer,” says company founder, Dominic Davies. “Make sure you paint your toenails; ticket holders will have the chance to swap civilian shoes for their very own Backyard Cinema flip flops making this a cinema experience you truly remember.
