Born Stranger: Northampton’s Electro Duo Release ‘Fire & The Flame’

I don’t wanna be yours/do you wanna be mine?

Born Stranger‘s David Maddox-Jones and Raife Hacking are no strangers when it comes to creating dark, uplifting pop tunes together, and their brand new debut is on top form.

“‘Fire & The Flame’ is about the moment you realise you and your childhood sweetheart are over, you’ve grown apart. It’s got a lot of hope but there is also a sense of sadness. We feel like it’s a great introduction to the band,” tells the Northampton duo.

Co-producers, Hacking and vocalist Maddox-Jones – inspired by the likes of Tears for Fears, Depeche ModeThe Weeknd and Sia – teamed with Yoad Nevo to produce ‘Fire & The Flame’, which nods towards the euphoric dance of Faithless in the 90s, and the modern electronic pop sound of M83 and Years & Years.

‘Fire & The Flame’ is out on August 19th.
