This Thursday sees the launch of the Number 90 Bar & Kitchen’s Birthday Weekender, a massive four-day party from 17-20 March to celebrate birthday number two.
The stunning canal-side venue in Hackney Wick, will feature DJs, bands, performers, live art installations, food stalls and innovative cocktails. What’s more, the celebrations are all free entry, and everyone’s invited!
Kicking off on Thursday, the first day of festivities begins with friends, family and press launch, featuring an array of immersive entertainment to get the party started. From well-known artists creating bespoke Number 90 masterpieces, to live music and a special DJ set from Groove Armada’s Tom Findlay.
Friday evening will see compilations from the popular Late Night Tales, along with music from the Rough Trade record label, who will be providing the perfect party soundtrack for tackling the huge birthday piñata. On the Saturday, Phonica Records will be spinning the vinyl alongside Slothboogie, whilst guests can pay a visit to the Starlight Boutique glitter camp, before bending over backwards in a huge limbo competition.
Winding down on the Sunday, guests can indulge in what is arguably one of the best roasts in Hackney, whilst relaxing to a mixture of funk, soul and reggae from Russ Ryan and DJ Scratchy. A retro record stand selling vinyl will be set up in the bar, so music lovers can invest in some Birthday Weekend memorabilia.
Number 90 will also be unveiling the new expansion to their terrace decking, allowing the party to spill out onto the scenic canal-side. Complete with its very own bar accommodating up to 100 guests, this stand-alone area is the perfect spot to sit back and relax whilst watching the sun go down.
Samples from the new food offering will be available to guests, from a menu that features a variety of super foods, classic dishes and burgers that centre upon fresh and locally sourced ingredients, with an emphasis on vegetarian, vegan dishes and yummy gluten free desserts. The new drinks menu will also be in full swing, offering an array of local and international crafts beers, innovative cocktails, unique soft drinks and healthy smoothies.
