Preview! London Collections: Men AW16

This Friday, Victoria House sees London Collections: Men take the capital by storm. LC:M has become a huge highlight in the men’s fashion calendar since it started in 2012. The showcase witnesses the celebration of British designers and brands over four exhilarating days of up and coming talent, creativity and platforms the importance of the British menswear industry.

Britain has been at the centre of men’s fashion right from the very beginning. A study commissioned by the British Fashion Council identified the trench coat, tweed & tartan, the dandy, bondage trousers, the riding coat, brogues, the bowler hat, the floral shirt & tie, Wellington boots and the three-piece suit as the top 10 iconic styles that originated in Britain. They have shaped modern innovation and craftsmanship that’s at the forefront of fashion today, not just in the UK but all around the world.

The show will kick start on Friday with Topman Design and will conclude with LATHBRIDGE by Patrick Cox. Alongside the catwalks and presentations, over 60 designers will be featured in the Designer Showrooms throughout the event, all under one roof for the press, buyers and attendees to feast their eyes on.

We’re so excited here at FMS Magazine and there’s definitely a few designers we’ll be keeping an eye on… Alexander McQueen, Oliver Spencer, Christopher Kane, MAN, Lou Dalton, Burberry.

And we’re just as excited about the new emerging talent supported by NEWGEN MEN… Liam Hodges, AGI & SAM, Alex Mullins, Astrid Anderson, Bobby Abley, Cottweiler, Craig Green, Diego Vanassibara, Nasir Mazhar and PIETER.

Established in 2009 and sponsored by Topman, NEWGEN MEN plays an integral part in raising the profiles of emerging British designers. This Launchpad for the winning applicants gives the young designers the opportunity to showcase their AW16 collections at London Collections: Men together with ongoing support to aid the success of their business.

Over the weekend of the LC:M, press, buyers and VIPs can also check into The Grooming Room, sponsored by FARBLACK and hosted at private members’ space, Century Club. Discreetly hidden behind a door on Soho’s Shaftesbury Avenue, visitors can browse through menswear brands, catch up on e-mails, indulge in beauty therapy and enjoy a leisurely drink on the roof terrace.

London Collections: Men AW16 runs from Friday 8th to Monday 11th January 2016 at Victoria House, Bloomsbury Square London.
