Baby, I’ll be on the road/Honey, I ain’t coming home/Honey, I ain’t coming home/Am gonna be on the road…

Sunset Sons have just this month hit the road to support Imagine Dragons on their European and UK arena tour, and – somewhat fittingly – released a new video for their latest single, ‘On The Road‘.

‘On The Road’ captures the raw energy of a live gig along with some of their favourite moments on tour, including those of the seaside variety – these guys are avid surfers who met (and still live) in the sleepy French beach town of Hossegor.

“That was part of the deal,” says Rory. “We couldn’t write the songs we do living in, say, London.”

Le Surfing, the bar on Estagnot beach where Rory (vocals / piano), Jed (drums), Rob (guitar) and Pete (bass) first met – incidentally, the bar is owned by Pete’s cousin Woodie – also lent its name to the band’s self-funded and released debut EP (which entered at No.6 on the iTunes Rock Chart, having been recorded in just three days), and a subsequent tour around the coastal surf towns of the UK, including Thurso, Scarborough and St Ives, soon followed.

Sunset Sons (originally from the UK and Austrailia) returned to their Hossegor home town after a summer of festivals to finish recording their debut album, although sessions were split between Nashville, London and France, helmed respectively by Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, Tom Waits), Catherine Marks (Foals, Wolf Alice) and Producer/Mixer James Lewis (Arctic Monkeys, Rae Morris, Zak Abel, Lykke Li).

Now on tour, the band are also set to play a (sold out) headline show on November 3rd as part of London’s first Community Festival.

‘On The Road’ is out now via FRENCH EXIT, and their debut album set for release in spring 2016.
