Milan, Paris, New York… whatever!
Okay, we love New York, but FMS is more about what’s happening in some of the cooler cities around Europe; London, Copenhagen and Berlin. This Wednesday sees Copenhagen Fashion Week kick off in the Danish capital, and FMS has teamed up with East London’s Hoxton Radio, and Hoxton Fashion – the world’s first fashion radio show – to bring you all the action from the DK catwalks to the UK airwaves.
New talent making their debut at CPHFW this season include design duo, Saks Potts, and Central Saint Martins graduate, Tatiana Andersen Camre (T.A.C.). Also among the 30 shows are a collection of fashion week newbies, such as Mark Kenly Domino Tan, winner of the DANSK Design Talent Magasin Award 2014, Freya Dalsjø and Maikel Tawadros, who after just a few seasons, have become firmly rooted in the CPHFW schedule. What’s more, a number of design schools will also be showing their graduate collections.
Check out this interview with Eva Kruse, CEO of Danish Fashion Institute and Copenhagen Fashion Week, about how Denmark is making fashion week more inclusive than exclusive.
Copenhagen Fashion Festival runs alongside CPHFW and hosts a wide range of events for consumers to get in on the action.
FMS presenter, Maria Amtoft Mikkelsen, who’s featured in a number of Danish magazines, will be reporting back from CPHFW SS16, and giving Hoxton Radio listeners an insight into what’s going down on the scene, along with off the cuff interviews with fashion personalities and show attendees.
Copenhagen Fashion Week SS16 runs from Wednesday 5th August to Friday 7th August.
Tune in to Hoxton Radio from Wednesday to Friday this week for exclusive reportage throughout the three day event.
