Trailerpark Festival: Art, Music and Innovation

This Thursday sees the launch of Copenhagen’s Trailerpark Festival, with the three day event featuring some of the hottest electronic artists from Scandinavia.

Copenhagen Skatepark in Vesterbro will play host to the likes of Oh Land, Rangleklods and Kenton Slash Demon, along with many other up-and-coming artists.

Rangleklods have taken Denmark by storm since their first hit ‘Young and Dumb’ was released in 2011, and this summer saw the band take to some of the biggest stages across Northern Europe, to promote their latest album Straitjacket.

This year, the art and music festival has added a special daytime event on the Friday, Trailerpark I/O (Input/Output), about the discovery of technology, creativity and human interaction.

The Trailerpark Festival concept has also developed to include a new daytime line-up of ‘talks, exhibitions, makerthons, hackerthons and innovation labs’, as described on their event page.

Creative group, Obscura, have for the second year produced the visuals, and their video installations are not confined to a rectangular screen. Last year they used their trademark triangles to create some stunning lighting effects and projections on the Royal Stage, with the set-up including a moving light installation that was placed directly above the performing act.

Obscura often use a technique called projection mapping that turns objects into living video sculptures, and the main stage at Trailerpark Festival is set to become a fantastical display that has to be seen.

We can’t wait for this total experience of progressive Danish art and culture.

See you there.
