Won Hundred AW17 @ Copenhagen Fashion Week

Won Hundred’s show kick-started the very first day of Copenhagen Fashion Week for autumn/winter 2017.

Creative director, Nikolaj Nielsen, has been working in the fashion industry since he was a teenager, and returned to Copenhagen Fashion Week last season, after taking time out to develop the brand. The spring/summer 2017 collection was just a teaser of Won Hundred’s new image, and this season had a splash of real high fashion!

Won Hundred is well known for its perfectly cut denim pieces, and the new collection presented many of the brand’s signature denim baggy jackets and high-waist jeans. Bold primary colours gave a comic book feel to many outfits, along with turned-back cuffs of comedy proportions and red and white calf length boots adding a superhero feel.

Puffer jackets of epic proportions were worn with monochrome outfits of bright purple and olive green, while a transparent cape made its way over and under outfits, including men’s suits and women’s motorcycle leathers. The unique red-blackish boots and heels were really eye-catching, and worn with minimalistic outfits created a high fashion look.

Nielsen derives inspiration from many top fashion brands, including one in particular- Helmut Lang. The autumn/winter 2017 collection also reminded us a lot of another cult designer- Alexander Wang. This opening fashion week collection proved how much Won Hundred’s brand has developed, and the ongoing comparisons to other world famous fashion designers makes us really excited for their next collection.
