Times have changed, the fashion world is more global than ever, and it was China’s rising designers who conquered China Fashion Week with their Spring/Summer 2016 collections. Trends presented were creative, elegant and modern, thanks to the fusion of traditional Chinese culture with the contemporary era. Asiaβs new designers are spreading their style philosophy worldwide, and the latest CFW SS16 must-have pieces will spice up pretty much every fashionista’s closet in the next few months.
Alicia Lee presented Sophisticate Geometry with her Lin Kun Collection, inspired by soviet artist, El Lissitzky. Simple lines and dusty pastel colours are the focus of her style philosophy and the contrast with geometrical structures and metallic shades enhance the connection between a delicate woman and her strong urban soul, creating a light but structured design concept.
Another must-have trend for SS16 was presented by Broadcast:boβs collection with its Urban Literature philosophy. Designer, Wang Tao, aims to outline women’s daily lifestyle, emphasizing key aspects, such as career, leisure and social events with a collection made up of minimal tailored pieces, paired with unique patterns and peculiar textures, able to match any business or free time occasion
The latest trend for this season is Wear Your Mood, because clothes are a mirror of your inner soul and there is nothing wrong in revealing your emotions through your look, even your darkest ones. This is the philosophy behind SIVICO‘s new collection, that pulls away the spring bright-and-loud theme and focuses on a social problem: depressive disorder. The designer used pleats and raw textures to express panic and anxiety, matching them with burgundy colours and deep greys, but there is still room for positive emotions, provided here by energetic, bright yellow colour pops.
As we can tell, China’s new designers are opening new perspectives for the fashion industry, and their trends will conquer a lot of style scenarios
