Crewel Intentions: Chilli Jesson's Post-Palma Violets Band Release Second Track, 'Cruel Intentions'

Crewel Intentions: Chilli Jesson’s Post-Palma Violets Band Release Second Track, ‘Cruel Intentions’

Crewel Intentions have just dropped their second track, ‘Cruel Intentions’ – a brilliant, sweeping Morricone-esque number that follows the grand and dramatic feel of debut release, ‘Youth In Overload’.

Spaghetti Western melodrama is at the heart of this new project by former Palma Violets bassist, Chilli Jesson. Debut track ‘Youth In Overload’ was a stunning introduction to the band, completed by Marley Mackay, Jordan Cook, Leo Kurunis and Rupert XXX, with ‘Cruel Intentions’ embodying the same Nick Cave-esque vibes.

From Top 20 album to world tours and magazine covers, Jesson has already seen and done more than most. Since Palma Violets dissolved, he’s been rediscovering a perspective on life away from the whirlwind that was the Palma years. The result is a very personal collection of songs, and a huge leap forward in his musical ambitions.

‘Cruel Intentions’ received its exclusive first play as Zane Lowe’s World Record on Beats 1 last Thursday, 8th November. The band are currently halfway through a nationwide tour supporting Johnny Marr and will be headlining Electrowerkz in London on Thursday, 21st November.
