Copenhagen Fashion Week kicked off its Spring/Summer 2018 presentations this week, with Anne Vest opening the catwalk schedule and the inspiring showrooms of Aiayu and Meet the Danes welcoming the first visitors.
After Cocktail Night at Umami, Copenhagen Fashion Week is truly welcomed into the city, where the streets are filled with photographers shooting well-dressed people, as they run along with their tickets for the catwalk shows.
One such photographer is Adam Katz Sinding of Le21ème, who shares his thoughts on fashion week in the Danish capital below. CPHFW is one of Denmark’s biggest recurring events, and the largest fashion week in Scandinavia, so it’s interesting to hear the perspective of a regular on the scene.
This Wednesday, fashionistas breakfasted with Tommy Hilfiger, sipping the good morning coffee and previewing his latest designs, while the catwalks opened with Verena Schepperheyn, a Berlin-based contemporary menswear brand specialised in creating mid-range luxury products with a focus on detail and material uniqueness.
The Don’t Tell My Booker party, co-hosted by Sweden Models Agency, takes place this evening, but we totally recommend you hold out for the Henrik Vibskov show first if you should have a ticket. Last season saw the designer welcome everyone with an amazing performance of yoga athletics, so we’re interested to see what this season has in store!
Thursday will probably be the busiest day of Copenhagen Fashion Week, with 14 shows on the schedule, including Martin Asbjorn, Baum und Pferdgarten, Ganni, Saks Potts and HÆRVÆRK. For those full of energy the night has a lot of to offer, with a full party schedule ahead, while the final day of CPHFW also offers a day full of events and the last chance to attend the CIFF and Revolver trade shows.
Spring/Summer 2018 season surely starts with Copenhagen Fashion Week. The variety of fashion shows, events and showrooms assure us that Scandinavian fashion is the one to be followed. Be sure to follow CPHFW for updates, as a big portion of SS18 trends are about to arrive!
