New York’s Elliot Moss Announces UK Debut & ‘Slip’

Upstate New Yorker, Elliot Moss, has announced the UK debut release of his stunning album Highspeeds.

Ahead of this, is the beautiful debut track, ‘Slips’, accompanied by the unofficial video choreographed and edited by Phillip Chbeeb.

Unsurprisingly, the video was a hit on Facebook, garnering over 19 million views.

Highspeeds draws on electronic, jazz and ambient influences, creating a truly immersive soundscape that, as an album, combines themes of hope and loss over powerful, repetitive rhythms.

“It was born of a backdrop of seeing friends move away while I remained static,” explains Moss. “Everybody was moving on, doing their own thing… off to college or travelling. It felt like everyone was moving faster than I was, because all I was doing was sitting here making music.”

Check out the album, released in the US earlier this year through Grand Jury, below.

Moss debuted live in the US late last year, at New York’s Rough Trade store, and has since supported Cold War Kids and appeared at this year’s SxSW festival.

Highspeeds is out on 25th September through Play It Again Sam, and available to pre-order via iTunes with Instant Grat ‘Slip’.

The album will also be available on limited 12” heavyweight vinyl and CD.
