Citadel Festival is for those who are perhaps too busy to go off for an extended weekend away but never too busy to enjoy an intimate event featuring some of the industry’s most exciting acts. This Sunday festival allows you to swoop straight into an atmosphere of food, fun and art, carefully curated around a day of live music including headliners, The Foals (predicted to be a Glastonbury headliner in time) and the slick sexy sound of Wild Beasts to jam to under the elements.
This festival is a platform for underrated voices with stages like The Kasbah hosted by Clash Magazine and XFM. Here you’ll find acts like Oumou Sangaré one of the most important African singers of the decade, performing again after an eight-year break, and A Blaze of Feather, a mysterious new band who are currently one of the music industry’s best kept secrets.
For the more science-minded, Citadel even has a Science Camp with lessons on robots and lucid dreaming. Clearly this is not the average festival!
It’s not too late to nab yourself a ticket for this summer extravaganza.
Citadel finds its home at Victoria Park on Sunday July 16.
