Ariana Fig Shares Soaring New Single ‘Guilty Pleasure’

Canadian singer-songwriter, Ariana Fig has just followed up her stunning single ‘Maroon’ with the soaring and equally captivating ‘Guilty Pleasure’.

Channelling a broad and heady mix of dream-pop and indie-rock textures, ‘Guilty Pleasure’ showcases more of that warm and effervescent direction she is quickly building for herself. With her sweet and lofty voice riding a bed of rich and shimmering production throughout, she looks to bridge the gap between the nostalgic and contemporary sides to her aesthetic with a bright and passionate tone from start to finish.

“I think there’s something beautiful about accepting your flaws and desires, which is what I wanted to emulate with this song.”

“’Guilty Pleasure’ is about not sugar coating what you really want even when you know it’s bad for you,” says Fig. “People, places, memories. We all like to ponder on these thoughts for some time and beat ourselves up over the ‘one that got away’. I think there’s something beautiful about accepting your flaws and desires, which is what I wanted to emulate with this song.”

Born and raised in southwestern Canada, Ariana Fig is a jack of all trades. Her musical adventure began with playing violin in a symphony orchestra and later performing in musical theatre. She quickly moved to writing her own songs at the age of 13 where her influences from ’70s rock bands like Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones nurtured this young artist’s palette.

Fig’s music is a product of her own, from writing and production to the guitar and vocals you hear in each of her tracks. Her style is fresh and nostalgic all at once. At such a young age, her vibrant voice and personality shine through.

‘Guilty Pleasure’ is out now.
