Ask the DJ: Crash Adams – Top 10 Songs That Inspire Adventure

Canadian duo, Crash Adams have just released their latest single ‘Make It Last’. “Most people at some point wonder what it would be like to relive a moment of their youth, but have it play out according to what their ideal vision is of that moment – true or not. ‘Make It Last’ is about that. At the end of the day, we want people to hear it and create their own story behind it,” say the band.

As for their playlist: “I’m Crash, this is Adams. We love suits and we love telling stories. We consider our experiences in music to be somewhat of an adventure, inspired by different artists as well as situations. From our interests to our own music, we’re all about adventure, whether it’s a mental adventure or a physical one. That’s why we’ve decided to put together a list of our top 10 songs that inspire adventure.”

1. MGMT – ‘Kids’

“This is the perfect upbeat song with a catchy synth melody that makes you happy. Even further, the writing and concept behind the music video is one of our favourites.”

2. Empire of the Sun – ‘Walking On A Dream’

“It’s a pretty easy-going song, but at the same time the chord progressions make us envision a summer journey with our closest friends. ‘We are always running for the thrill of it’.”

3. Tame Impala – ‘The Less I Know The Better’

“This song makes us feel like we’re driving in a city by the water with no worries while the sun is setting. Who doesn’t feel happy when they feel like that?”

4. EMBRZ – ‘Breathe’

“When we hear this track, we hear the story of someone who is searching for meaning, getting closer and closer, but still isn’t breaking through the glass that allows them to ‘breathe’.”

5. The Naked & Famous – ‘Young Blood’

“This song takes me back to first year of University, entering a completely new situation and feeling like I had so much to discover.” – Crash

6. Rubblebucket – ‘Fruity’

“This song is an adventure in itself. If you listen closely, there’s always another layer being added that either changes the direction of the song or adds to its beauty. We also think the writing is unbelievable.”

7. The Midnight – ‘Sunset’

“This track brings us right back to a night in the ‘80s. Even though we weren’t even born in that era, we feel as though we’ve experienced it with a modern twist through this song.”

8. The Killers – ‘When You Were Young’

“Growing up, we’d listen to this song and think of the endless possibilities that were available to us. To this day, it still brings us that feeling of inspiration.”

9. The 1975 – ‘Robbers’

“The meaning we took from the music video is that it was a story of being addicted to seeking the next high, the next thrill and the next adventure – something that many can relate to.”

10. Nora En Pure – ‘Diving With Whales’

“The composition of this song is fantastic. It has no words in it, which allows you to experience the soothing emotional roller coaster that one would have while in the ocean, diving with whales.”

“We hope you enjoyed our selections. Stay tuned; our next single will be released on all platforms on August 16th, followed by the music video a short time after. We have so much finished music and we can’t wait for you to experience our musical adventure!” ‘Make It Last’ is out now. Listen to it HERE.
