Bisou Noir Premiere Video for New Single ‘Fooled By You’

Today sees the release of the second single by London-based, alternative rock quartet, Bisou Noir. ‘Fooled By You’ follows on from their vast debut single ‘Showdown’ and FMS is pleased to premiere the brand new video for the track, which is all about “breaking conventions of genres and scene,” says frontman, Toby Spysznyk.

“The song is about breaking the mould and not dodging bullets. I’m fed up of scenes being so stylised and just wanted to write unpretentious rock with a sprinkling of pop hook.”

‘Fooled by You’ does just that. The verses feel straight out of generational album, AM with Milo Burgess’ smooth, melodic guitar soaring over the darker rhythm section. Choruses come in the form of well-produced snippets of the band’s knowledge of hooks. Both building up to the song’s crescendo, which evokes memories of debut single ‘Showdown’ and perfectly demonstrates why this band are one to look out for over the next 12 months.

The video – directed by accomplished team, Kassandra Powell and Karl Harris, and produced by exciting young producer, Simon Jackman (You Me At Six, Bokassa) – doesn’t just support the song (which got its first airing on BBC Introducing) but really brings it to life. The band don the look of a group of clueless mimes, hopelessly getting through the day, as life continues to get in the way.

Bisou Noir – completed by Spysznyk, Burgess, Jake Tullett and Mikey Laws – have been making some real noise around the London rock/indie scene of late, building up a loyal following, with packed out shows at the likes of Brixton Jamm and Spice of Life. Be sure to catch them live soon – upcoming dates below.
