Cara Hammond’s impeccable 2019 has continued with nothing but ease into the new decade with her new single, ‘Ready For The Fall’, a deep dive into her experience within the music industry as a promising artist. FMS has a first look at the epic new video, which features two conflicting Cara’s as they battle it out between self-confidence and submitting to your inner saboteur.

With support from more than 10 New Music Friday Spotify playlists, as well as reaching the BBC Introducing hotlist, ‘Ready For The Fall’ is strong and powerful, speaking on a personal reflection of life in your twenties.

“Every time I release a song, I am showcasing a piece of myself, something I’ve worked really hard on and become proud of. It’s a huge risk with time, money and self-confidence if it’s a flop, but you have to believe that it’s going to take you somewhere.”

“Every time I release a song, I am showcasing a piece of myself, something I’ve worked really hard on and become proud of. It’s a huge risk with time, money and self-confidence if it’s a flop, but you have to believe that it’s going to take you somewhere,” say Cara. “Every time I perform, I have to deal with my nerves to be able to put on an amazing show. What if I forget the words? What if I come in on the wrong beat? What if the A&R guest we’ve invited hates my music? All these things are risks, but if I never perform then no one will know what I’m capable of.”

Possessing a dominant vocal performance throughout both verse and chorus, Cara’s soulful indie-pop style is fueled with inspiring messages and melancholy chords that perfectly reflect her as an honest artist. A cinematic blend of pop and soul, ‘Ready For The Fall’ is filled with soaring strings, vinyl cracks and deep, deep bass.

The reveal of the video comes with the announcement of a new London show, where Cara will be playing with her full band, at The Islington on 19th February. In addition, Cara’s first festival appearances for 2020 have just been announced. Cara will play Focus, Wales on 9th May, and Lowde Charity Festival in Hampshire on 11th July.
