Consisting of prominent hit making producer, Steve Forest and the elusively mysterious Spinnin’ Records contest winners, Gaspare and Giovanni Migliore, known as duo Te Pai. Italian trio, Lazy Guys collaborate with British singer songwriters, JO3L and Nathan C for heartfelt dance-pop anthem ‘How To Fly’.
With all collaborators on this track having varied musical backgrounds, the track has many influences. Pop star, JO3L has had top ten chart success with band, Deepest Blue; Steve Forest was the mastermind behind Pitbull’s worldwide hit ‘I Know You Want Me’, and Te Pai have become renowned for their illustrious, electronic live shows.
“The parts I wrote were about the loss of my mate Scott, who was taken early. The parts Nathan wrote were about a relationship lost and rekindled. I love how the song has two meanings for us.”
From a songwriting standpoint, the touching and emotive lyrics are open for interpretation, giving the track a different meaning for many. JO3L appreciates this as he comments “Co-writes always come out interesting. The parts I wrote were about the loss of my mate Scott, who was taken early. The parts Nathan wrote were about a relationship lost and rekindled. I love how the song has two meanings for us.”
Lazy Guys bring their own production expertise to add to this touching number with deep, underlying chord progression that subtly sets a sombre tone to the track. This combination of production and lyrics creates a gradual build up to the inevitable bass drop that is mandatory in dance music, where the track’s emotion surges through the heavy bassline and kick drum that guides us to the dancefloor.
Unlike much electronic music, the tracks short run time leaves no time for respite, making it an impactful rollercoaster of emotions. Although the track has a sombre tone, ‘How to Fly’ is destined to be one that will take over the club dancefloor. A track that will have you dancing your tears away until the early hours of the morning.
