On Repeat: New York’s Yianna Shares New Cut ‘1-800-Superhorny’ & We Can’t Stop Listening to It

New York based Yianna has followed up her richly romantic single ‘When I’m Loving You’ with sensual new cut ‘1-800-Superhorny’ – a straight talking, late night groove that explores intimacy, rejection and enamoured connections – and we can’t stop listening to it.

Filled with heady guitar melodies and a soft smattering of percussion, the track details lust and desire with refreshing honesty, proving her versatile musical ability. “I called my friend Joe one day and was like ‘I’m having a really bad day can I come to the studio’. I had kinda told him what was going on and that I was feeling whack after getting rejected by a guy,” Yianna explains.

“We wrote the song in 30 minutes, and afterwards when he was saving the session, he asked ‘what should we call it?’ I jokingly said ‘1-800-Superhorny’.”

“He started singing ‘who do you call’ and the words just started coming out. It was one of those sessions that was just not serious at all. We wrote the song in 30 minutes, and afterwards when he was saving the session, he asked ‘what should we call it?’ I jokingly said ‘1-800-Superhorny’ and he was like you have to. We argued about it a bit because I was like there’s no way I’m naming my song that for real. I texted him when I got home and said ‘let’s do it’. It was the start to my whole upcoming project.”

Originally from New Jersey, Yianna had originally planned to enrol in the military before a local music producer heard her sing. Encouraged to start writing songs, she dropped out of college and moved to New York to pursue music. Writing for other artists and performing as a backup singer on shows such as Good Morning America, she was determined to make music her full-time career. Accumulating thousands of streams through independent releases, she eventually teamed up with a collective of musicians and producers in Brooklyn where they wrote, recorded, and produced her first full length project.

Continuing to experiment within the realms of her rich sonic landscape, ‘1-800-Superhorny’ is further indication of an artist who has confidently discovered their sound.

‘1-800-Superhorny’ is out now.
