On Repeat: We Can’t Stop Playing 7Chariot’s Infectious New Pop Banger โ€˜Elevator Musicโ€™

Today sees the release of ‘Elevator Music’ by Nashville’s 7Chariot, and we just can’t stop playing it. This infectious offering from the 21 year-old artist (aka Claire Wilkinson), follows on from the success of former releases, โ€˜Ricochetโ€™ and โ€˜Danger In Meโ€™, but listen carefully and you’ll here the bittersweet memories of those early musical experiences.

“Elevator Music was written pretty specifically about my experience in a major label setting, and the lack of sincerity and sensitivity that seems so inextricably linked to a corporate approach to music.”

“Elevator Music was written pretty specifically about my experience in a major label setting, and the lack of sincerity and sensitivity that seems so inextricably linked to a corporate approach to music. I donโ€™t think itโ€™s always inherently bad or toxic,” she continues, “but I was so young when I signed my first record deal, and it took a massive toll on my mental health and my overall perception of my own writing.โ€

Wilkinson turned to music as a form of therapy, pouring her emotions into her debut EP, which is set for release in September this year. Creating an addictive of blend of electro-infused sky reaching pop, 7Chariot looks set to make a mark in the coming months. Watch this space.

‘Elevator Music’ is out now via Propeller Recordings.
