Shannon and the Clams: New Album, Video & Tour Dates

Oakland-based indie garage punk trio, Shannon and the Clams, are set to release their forthcoming album, Gone By The Dawn on 11th September via Hardly Art.

The trio, known for their doo-wop, classic R&B and surf, have shared a charming new video for ‘Point Of Being Right’, directed by Clams guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Cody Blanchard, and featuring Cody, Shannon, drummer Nate Mayhem, and a coterie of companions giving the track their best karaoke-parlor treatment.

The album as a whole is the perfect break-up soundtrack to your 1950’s prom night. It follows a dynamic, full-bodied sound, interjected with haunting vocals and picking guitar that take you surfing back in time.

Songwriters, Shannon and Cody, frequently switch the task as lead singer, which reflects their differences on the topic of love and heartbreak, coming together to form a dreamy, atmospheric but slightly twisted sound.

Shannon and the Clams are clearly influenced by stars of old, such as Patsy Cline, but maintain a modern feel, encouraging foot stomping and a body swaying tick that may make you feel like you have a mild case of Tourette’s.

Gone By The Dawn is out on 11th September via Hardly Art.

Catch them on tour this November 2015.
