Ashley Williams Combines Class w/ Attitude for AW18

Set against a Stonehenge inspired set at February’s London Fashion Week, Ashley Williams’ collection juxtaposed its background, featuring structured silhouettes and a modern, sexy feel. Williams chose this set because she wanted to ground the show in history and the appreciation for the natural world by “ditching technology and exploring the UK and all its monolithic marvels.”

Compared to the other shows we’d seen for autumn/winter 2018, Williams offered a fresh set of designs, which were completely wearable. Coos from audience members and statements of “wanting to wear that” from Williams’ guests were amass, and we couldn’t help but agree.

The sheer black pieces were an elevated version of high street style, with fitted tops and flirty skirts that flowed around the models elegantly. Williams managed to combine class with attitude, as she styled monochrome suits with bright pink hoodies, and leopard print tops with sheer black skirts. However, our favourite set had to be the linen blue suit paired with a graphic tee and hot pink slippers – true style perfection.

Williams is a young but talented designer and certainly one to watch. Her collections are currently being stocked in Selfridges, Colette and Joyce.
