Quaglino’s Launches NYC Approved Q-Aperitivo Cocktail Menu w/ Live Music & Complimentary Snacks

Quaglino’s latest Q Aperitivo offering had its opening run across the pond at New York’s Dante, last month. Hot on the trail of its success, the West London team – Marco Sangion (Bar Manager) and Federico Pasian (Head Mixologist) – are bringing the specially curated offering to Mayfair every Thursday this September.

FMS stopped by to sample the delicious cocktails by the newly appointed Pasian. Expectations were high, as the highly-acclaimed mixologist originally hails from Italy, making him something of an expert on all things Aperitivo. The four beautifully presented creations were specifically-designed to balance zingy bitters with sweet Mediterranean spirits; encapsulating the hazy essence of late summer.

Vitamin Sea (Tanqueray Gin, Italicus, Maraschino, Bergamot Juice, Lavender Syrup and Bob’s Ginger Bitter)

Vitamin Sea, served in a beautiful shell, on a bed of crushed ice, was a clear favourite, with its combination of Tanqueray Gin, Italicus, Maraschino, Bergamot Juice, Lavender Syrup and Bob’s Ginger Bitter. But then for a gin lover, it was always on the cards to be a winner.

The Milky Way is another delicate option (for those who don’t mind a little dairy in their cocktail), combining Mount Gay XO with Goslings, Antica Formula, Clear Milk, Cinnamon & Vanilla, Bitter Trilogy and Lemon Juice.

Into The Woods (Don Julio, Palo Cortado, White Truffle, Amer Picon, Dandelion Bitter)

Into The Woods, with its premium tequila, packed way more punch than our starters. Don Julio is teamed with Palo Cortado, White Truffle, Amer Picon and Dandelion Bitter. Presentation was beautiful, even without the books pictured. Although, to be fair, that would have taken a lot longer to set up.

Negroni Riposato is equally intense, for those who like their cocktails strong, combining Hudson Baby Bourbon, Campari, porcini, Noilly Prat, Hazelnut liqueur and coconut butter.

Merchant Of Venice, with its combination of Rinomato Aperitivo, Mancino Chinato served with Peroni Ambra, is the only one we missed out on, having opted for the above, but then perhaps a return visit is in order…

Check out the video above, which captures the vibe of Quaglino’s Q Apertivo evenings from a previous offering, with its live Italian music and complimentary Aperitivo snacks that accompany each cocktail order. There are plenty of vegan options alongside charcuterie platters, arancini, feta-stuffed peppers and more. See you there?

Q Aperitivo takes place, 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm, every Thursday this September at Quaglino’s, 16 Bury Street, St. James’s, London SW1Y 6AJ.
