REYKO Usher in The New Year with Smouldering New Single β€˜Surrender’

Rising, London-based electropop duo, REYKO have just shared the new video for their first single release of the New Year, entitled ‘Surrender’.

Earmarked by oscillating synths and marching drums, ‘Surrender’ is the epitome of beauty in simplicity. It’s a thrilling new gem that continues the intrigue around the seasoned artists. Befitting of a visual, the latest from the REYKO camp perfectly captures the tone of their track. The one-take clip shot on the English South-East seaside is imbued with dreaminess and simplicity.

REYKO are part of the streaming generation of artists, who embrace mixing different styles such us electro, minimal, indie, dance and trap while always balancing it with catchy pop hooks and melodies.

The two artists – vocalist, Soleil (a former tennis player) and producer, Igor (a former osteopath) – started making music together as the final project for Igor’s masters degree in music production. They have maintained their DIY approach to music ever since – writing, producing and recording everything from their home studio.

Their first official single ‘Spinning Over You’ was part of the Top 10 Netflix UK series ELITE, Season 2 soundtrack and became a viral hit in 2018 in their native Spain, which would see them perform to over 20K people in Madrid’s Arena as part of the Spanish Radio Ball. REYKO spent the large part of 2018 touring, culminating in a nomination for Best New Spanish Artist at the LOS40 Awards.

Previous single ‘Set You Free’ was the theme song for a Spanish Netflix series Toy Boy, while their three consecutive singles last autumn – ‘Lose Myself’ in August, followed by ‘Hierba Mala’, which was synced to a popular Netflix Mexican series The House of Flowers the same month and released in September, and ‘Don’t Mention My Name’ in October – saw REYKO set the tone for their upcoming debut ablum, scheduled for release in early 2020.
